Forby Questions the ocnstitutionallity of Right to work zonesIn the ongoing fight to protect working families from overreaching anti-employee initiatives, State Senator Gary Forby (D-Benton) sent a letter to Attorney General Lisa Madigan to inquire about the constitutionality of right-to-work zones.

Across the country, right-to-work laws have crippled unions' ability to protect workers' rights. Studies of other states concluded that right-to-work laws drive down wages and benefits and do not improve a state's business climate or create jobs.
Governor Rauner wants to experiment with their anti-worker policies at the state level.

forby condems rauners lates eoState Senator Gary Forby (D-Benton) issued the following statement in response to Governor Rauner's latest move to limit a union's ability to protect its membership.

"Is Governor Rauner trying to take us back to the industrial revolution when workers had no protections?" Forby said. "Taking away unions ability to make sure working people can provide for their families isn't the way to make Illinois better."

Springfield – State Senator Gary Forby, who represents the southeastern portion of Illinois issued the following statement in response the Governor Rauner’s State of the State address:

“Too much blaming and not enough solving,” Forby said. “The people of Southern Illinois want solutions. I want to work with this governor, but I’m not interested in balancing the budget on the backs of working families. That’s not going to help people around here.”
